It is a Swiss ice cream produced by Nestle Company. In April 2003, Nestlé bought the international rights to Movenpick Ice Cream, and set up a separate business unit called Swiss Ice Cream Premium. The business is now operated through a subsidiary called Super Premium SA Nestle, headquartered in Lausanne. The first Mövenpick restaurant was opened in Zurich on July 19, 1948 by Prager Uli. And before 1958, it had eight restaurants spread across Switzerland. Prager remained Chief Operating Officer until 1991. Movenpick ice cream is now available in more than 30 countries, and is produced in New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Norway, while the main production site is in Switzerland.
