The concept of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Stores was born during the journey of the Herb founders and Mona Heyman to Europe. After touring many premium coffee shops across Europe, the couple decided to bring the concept of specialty coffee to America. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was established in 1963, opened its first store in Los Angeles, California, which continues to operate today as one of our largest and most prestigious places.
