It is one of the famous Cairo cafes and is located in Al-Azhar district and is considered one of the oldest Cairo cafes, as its establishment dates back to the year 1797 AD. The café gained its fame and luster, thanks to the international Egyptian writer Naguib Mahfouz, whose favorite café was “Al-Fishawy”. The café witnessed many of the first drafts of his novels, and it served as a living space in which he met his friends and lovers of writers, artists and simple people.
